General Questions

What is MIA Optimize?

+

MIA Optimize is defined as a website audit tool and SEO analyzer built for East African businesses in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda. It is a complete website intelligence platform that checks 47 SEO ranking signals, scores your GEO optimization for AI search, extracts your Brand DNA, generates AI-powered content, and runs competitor analysis.

MIA Optimize is built and maintained by MIA Global Studios in Nairobi, Kenya. It is the only website audit tool in East Africa that scores both traditional SEO and AI search citability (GEO) in a single scan — priced in KES with M-Pesa support.

Who is MIA Optimize for?

+

MIA Optimize is built for:

Kenyan and East African SMEs — businesses with 1–50 employees that have a website and want better search visibility, without paying USD 99–200/month for global tools that don't understand the East African market.

Digital marketing agencies — agencies managing 3–50 client websites that need an automated audit workflow, white-label reports, and per-client Brand DNA profiles. The Agency Plan replaces Ahrefs + Screaming Frog + a reporting tool at a fraction of the cost.

Startups and founders — early-stage businesses that need to understand their online visibility and generate consistent, on-brand content without a full marketing team.

What countries does MIA Optimize serve?

+

MIA Optimize is built and priced for East Africa — primarily Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda. It can audit any website in any country, but the pricing (KES), payment methods (M-Pesa), and AI training are optimised for the East African market.

How is MIA Optimize different from Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Moz?

+

Three core differences:

1. Priced in KES. Ahrefs costs USD 99–199/month (KES 13,000–26,000). MIA Optimize starts at KES 1,500/month. Pay with M-Pesa — no USD, no international transaction fees, no currency risk.

2. GEO score. No global SEO tool scores your AI citability (GEO optimization). MIA Optimize is the only tool in East Africa that measures how likely ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity are to cite your website.

3. Brand DNA + content in one. Global tools are analysis-only — you still need a separate content tool. MIA Optimize extracts your brand voice and generates social, ad, and blog content all in one platform.

Website Audit

What does the website audit check?

+

The audit checks 47 signals across 6 categories:

SEO (title, meta, headings, canonical, schema, OG tags, keyword, links, HTTPS) · Content (readability, word count, tone, intent, active voice, Q&A structure) · GEO (FAQ schema, definitional language, authority citations) · Mobile Speed · Desktop Speed · Overall weighted score

Each signal is checked against Google's documented ranking factors and research from Backlinko (2023), Moz, Ahrefs, and Authoritas.

How long does an audit take?

+

A full audit completes in under 30 seconds for most websites. The SEO and content analysis runs in 5–10 seconds. The Google PageSpeed API call — which powers the mobile and desktop speed scores — takes the longest at 15–25 seconds depending on the target website's server response time.

Do I need to install anything to run an audit?

+

No. MIA Optimize requires no browser plugin, no server-side code installation, and no Google Search Console or Google Analytics connection. Paste your URL, enter your keyword, and click Analyse. That's it. Works on any website regardless of platform.

Can I audit competitor websites?

+

Yes. The SEO Audit tool can audit any publicly accessible URL. The Competitor Analysis module (paid plans) lets you run side-by-side comparisons of your site against up to 3 competitors, with AI-generated explanations of why they outrank you and specific action items.

GEO Optimization

What is GEO optimization?

+

GEO optimization (Generative Engine Optimisation) is defined as the practice of structuring website content so it gets cited by AI-powered search tools — ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot — when they answer user questions.

Traditional SEO optimises for Google's link-and-keyword algorithm. GEO optimization, by contrast, optimises for AI citation signals: definitional language ("X is defined as..."), Q&A content structure, FAQ schema markup, and authority citations ("According to Google..."). Research by Authoritas (2024) found that pages implementing all four GEO signals are cited 4× more often in AI-generated answers.

Why does GEO optimization matter for my Kenyan business?

+

According to DataReportal's Digital 2024 Kenya Report, 67% of Kenyan internet users now use AI assistants for product research before purchasing. This means that when a potential customer asks ChatGPT "What are the best digital agencies in Nairobi?" or "Where do I buy solar panels in Kenya?", only GEO-optimised businesses appear as cited sources.

Businesses that rank on Google page 2 but are GEO-optimised can still receive significant AI-driven referral traffic — bypassing the Google ranking competition entirely.

What GEO score is considered good?

+

MIA Optimize's GEO score is measured from 0 to 100 across 4 signals (25 points each). Score benchmarks:

0–39: Not AI-citable. Your content lacks the structural signals AI tools use to identify authoritative sources.
40–69: Partial GEO. Some signals present but key elements missing. AI tools may occasionally cite you.
70–84: Good GEO. Most signals present. You appear regularly in AI-generated answers for your topic area.
85–100: AI-ready. All signals strong. Consistent citation across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity.

Brand DNA

What is Brand DNA extraction?

+

Brand DNA extraction is defined as the automated process of detecting a business's tone of voice, value proposition, target audience, pain points, and messaging patterns — from either a live website or a manual business description form.

Two modes available:

  • 🌐 Existing Website: Select a past audit — the AI extracts your Brand Kit from scraped page content, headings, and meta data.
  • ✨ New Website: Fill in 8 fields (business name, industry, products/services, target audience, differentiators, personality, location). The AI builds your full Brand Kit without needing a live site — perfect for pre-launch businesses.

The resulting Brand Kit (tone, voice, value proposition, pain points, keywords, CTA style, and strategic advisory notes) is stored in your account and used automatically by both the Content Writer and Social Content tools.

The Brand Kit includes: primary and secondary tone · value proposition · target audience profile · top 4 pain points · brand language patterns (power words, avoided words, sentence style) · content style · unique differentiators · industry classification · CTA style.

What does the Content Writer produce?

+

The Content Writer generates complete, SEO-ready page content or blog posts in a single click. It is powered by your Brand DNA and audit data — not generic AI output.

For Web Pages, it produces: Meta title · Meta description · H1 · H2 sections with 200+ word body copy · H3 subsections · A mandatory FAQ section (4 Kenya/East Africa-specific questions) · Primary CTA · Secondary CTA · LSI keyword list for topical authority.

For Blog Posts: Introduction · H2/H3 structure with detailed body paragraphs · Conclusion · Internal link anchor suggestions · LSI keywords.

It also works in New Website mode — enter your keyword, business name, industry, and target audience without needing a past audit. Ideal for building content before your site launches.

What does Competitor Analysis show?

+

The Competitor Analysis module deep-scrapes your site and up to 3 competitor sites, then uses AI to produce a side-by-side intelligence report. It goes beyond basic score comparison.

You get: Top 25 keywords per competitor with actual frequency counts · Heading structure comparison (H1/H2/H3 per site) · Content depth analysis (topics they cover you're missing) · Schema markup comparison · Technical signals comparison (canonical, OG, viewport) · AI-written wins and losses with data citations · Prioritised action items with effort ratings · Keyword gap analysis with "why it matters" explanations.

What is Canonical URL analysis and why does it matter?

+

Canonical URL analysis checks whether your page correctly tells Google which URL is the authoritative version of your content — preventing duplicate content issues and ranking signal dilution.

MIA Optimize goes beyond checking whether a canonical tag exists. It analyses: whether the canonical is self-referencing (correct) · whether it uses HTTP on an HTTPS page (a silent ranking bleed) · www vs non-www conflicts · multiple conflicting canonical tags · relative vs absolute URL format.

The most damaging case: A canonical tag set to http://yourdomain.com/page on a site served over https://. This silently passes all ranking signals to a non-existent HTTP URL, costing you search visibility with no visible error. MIA Optimize detects this and shows you the exact corrected tag to copy-paste.

How accurate is the Brand DNA extraction?

+

Brand DNA extraction accuracy depends on content quality. Pages with at least 400 words of descriptive body copy, a clear value proposition, and consistent messaging produce highly accurate Brand Kits. Pages with thin content, placeholder text, or heavily technical copy produce less precise results.

The Brand DNA feature includes a Re-extract option — you can select a different, more content-rich page from your audit history to improve accuracy.

Which plan includes Brand DNA?

+

Brand DNA extraction is available on Starter (basic), Pro (full), and Agency (full + per-client) plans. The Free plan does not include Brand DNA. See the pricing page for a full feature comparison.
